About Me

I am a public health doctor from England interested in community development, empowerment, and alternatives to conventional mental health services.

I’m on the Editorial Collective of Asylum magazine for democratic psychiatry, psychology and community development (www.asylumonline.net) and have previously served as a Trustee for the English Hearing Voices Network (http://www.hearing-voices.org/). I have also written a book ‘Beyond Belief – alternative ways of working with delusions, obsessions and unusual experiences’ (http://www.peter-lehmann-publishing.com/).

I am grateful to the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust (www.wcmt.org.uk) for giving me a Travelling Fellowship to explore alternative routes to mental health recovery in the USA. This blog documents my travels.
